Scales and Tails Exotic Pet Rescue Needs YOUR Help Right now, all of us at scales and Tails have rescued critters with us. All money that is spent on the rescues comes from donations, sales, fund raisers and to be honest, most is out of our own pockets. Even though we are a rescue, trying to do the best we can for each foster animal, most vets or supply companies will not give any breaks on the cost of treatments or supplies. Right now, to be very blunt about it, Scales and Tails is broke but, we still have reptiles and ferrets needing Vet checks and surgeries. In the short time that we have been in existence, we have placed many, many ferrets and reptiles in new homes. We are asking you, fellow animal lovers, for help: help in letting us continue to provide for all the critters needing homes, surgeries, Vet check ups, etc. Its very hard for us to come to you asking for any donations but we all decided that it was we had to do and we believe that as very caring, loving people that want only the very best for their pets, you will understand our plea. Many of you will be having yard sales, etc in the coming months. Why not consider donating part of that income to Scales and Tails? Have some fixtures, lighting, cages, etc that you no longer need? We can always use these items too!! Also, many times we have emergency rescues that need to be dealt with...why not visit scales and tails ( www.scalesandtails.org ) and fill out a "foster" application to foster a needy reptile or ferret until a forever home can be found? Also offering to transport critters to new homes...there are so many ways to help us out and I know that you all do care deeply or you wouldn't be reading this! We are starting a fund raising program, Iguana Bucks, that we hope will help us keep Scales and Tails up and running. The following FAQ will explain the program. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ or what we project to be FAQ's) Iguana Bucks Q. What is the Iguana Bucks program? A. The Iguana Bucks program is a fund raiser to help support Scales & Tails Rescue and the iguanas they rehab and foster. Q. How does IguanaBucks work? A. Your donations through IguanaBucks go directly to Scales & Tails Rescue, a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization. The monies raised through these donations go directly to the care of the animals in our shelter. You can donate in one of two ways: 1. Buck a Month Club - donate just a dollar per month to help the shelter. 2. Flat Donation - donate any amount you can spare as a single donation. Q. How do I donate? A. The quickest method is to make a tax deductable donation online via PayPal: http://www.scalesandtails.org/shop.htm However, we also accept checks and money orders that can be mailed to the shelter directly.
